If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, IFT required students to reach a satisfactory level of proficiency in English Language prior to starting the programme. Evidence of your ability in spoken English will be required with your application form.
The standard requirement is an IELTS score of 6.5, TOEFL 580 (or 237 in the TOEL computer based test, plus 4 in the essay writing), or the AEB Test in English for Educational Purposes.
Please specify subjects, place of study, years of study and qualifications gained, beginning with the most recent. (You will need to provide us with proof of qualifications before you are allowed to start the course.)
Acceptance on the course will not be confirmed until you have confirmed your ability to fulfil both requirements. Please note that the Institute does not provide placements. Trainees who require practice placements or supervision must make their own arrangements. We have a few names of some practitioners and organisations which may be provided on request after registration. However, it is up to prospective trainees to make the arrangements themselves. If you are in any doubt please contact us for clarification.
It is expected that students should access a minimum of 10 hours of systemic supervision. Supervision can be accessed individually or in a small group. Supervision is expected to cover the student's systemic practice during the course (June - May).
Please complete the reference details below for a professional referee who can comment on your work with families/children. Please ask for their permission to provide a reference before supplying their details.
Please give the contact details of your tutor from your introductory training as your academic reference.
An administration fee of £45 must accompany this application. This is non-refundable.
If your application is successful, documentation regarding payment of fees will be sent to you. Students will be asked to indicate whether they will pay their own fees or if their employers will be responsible for payment. Payment by instalment is available to self-payers only.
Students will only be enrolled once payment has been received, or official confirmation of payment has been received from employers.
Students on IFT courses are governed by IFT's policy on course fees.
IFT registration takes place on the first day of the course. Once registered with IFT, students become liable for the full course fee. In the event of students failing to complete the course for any reason, including voluntary withdrawal on notice, they will remain liable for the full fee. All withdrawals must be stated in writing.
