Free book launch event: When They Came for Me, the Hidden Diary of an Apartheid Prisoner

John Schlapobersky is a training analyst, supervisor and teacher at the Institute of Group Analysis, London and Research Fellow, Birkbeck, University of London. His importance to IFT is his close relationship and collaboration with Robin Skynner, a founder of the Institute of Family Therapy. He is in private practice and has trained generations of group analysts, teaches internationally and has many publications.  In 1985 he was a Founding Trustee of The Medical Foundation – now known as Freedom from Torture. Earlier still in his career in the late 1970s and early 1980s, he worked closely with Robin and Prudence Skynner at a time when family therapy and group analysis were more closely aligned. Robin was his mentor for many years, and John co-produced and edited two of Robin’s seminal works; Explorations with Families: Group Analysis and Family Therapy (1987) and Institutes and How to Survive Them (1989).

He is the father of Hannah Sherbersky a valued colleague and friend to the Institute. Many of you will know Hannah from her contribution to systemic teaching.  For more information about this please see  https://thepsychologist.bps.org.uk/family-story.  IFT warmly invites you to take up the invitation to the free book launch on Sunday 13th June  REGISTRATION:  www.tinyurl.com/wtcfm
