Happy International Women’s Day!

At IFT we are proud to celebrate the women family therapists who spoke out against the status quo and gave voice to the unequal experience of many women in families.  Many of those pioneers remain very influential and are on our reading lists,  lecture on our courses and appear in our Continuing Professional Development programme.

Whilst it is impossible to recognise everyone we are particularly grateful to Gerrilyn Smith, Gill Gorell Barnes, and Gwyn Daniel, for their ongoing connection with the Institute.  We are also happy to anticipate a future workshop with Nancy Boyd-Franklin (watch this space) who has provided workshops for us in the past.  There are many other British, American and international women colleagues we can honour today, as well as the men who have also taken up the mantle of equality.

Have a great day!
