Hendrix Hammond

CPD CONTRIBUTOR

Hendrix is the Systemic Practice Lead for Croydon Children Social Care Department. Prior to this role, he was the Course Director of the foundation and qualifying level training at the Institute of Family Therapy (IFT). Hendrix has a passion for supporting institutions to deliver good systemic teaching. This passion comes from witnessing first-hand how a relational framework makes a significant difference to professional practice and the lived experiences of service users who access our support.

He has a wide and varied background, having started in a Youth Offending Service with ‘hard to engage’ young people with an offending history. He then worked in educational settings with families where a child had been identified with an emotional/behavioural difficulty. In this setting Hendrix noticed that fathers were often absent so he decided to take a role in working with both parents. Hendrix then moved to the Tavistock Relationships Centre (TR) where he worked as a group facilitator and supervisor running parenting groups for high conflict couples. In addition, he has worked in CAMHS undertaking mental health assessments and short-term interventions with a variety of clients.
