Lara Brown has a BA Hons in English and a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism. She was a Media Reporter for Broadcast magazine and the Independent, freelance writer/researcher for the BBC, and a writer on Contemporary and Modern Art (and Deputy Head of Department) for the auctioneer Sotheby’s. Lara subsequently retrained as a psychotherapist. She became severely ill with a bipolar episode following the birth of her second daughter, leading to hospital admissions over the next seven years. Lara is married with two daughters, aged 18 and 12.
