Peter is passionate about developing systemic working in an older adult context. He has been part of an experienced older adult family therapy team in Canterbury for the last 5 years and is now supporting the expansion of systemic services across further NHS sites in Kent. Peter is a guest lecturer at Christ Church University and teaches on both undergraduate and post-graduate programs. Peter has completed two older adult focused systemic research studies, including a service evaluation and a constructivist grounded theory study. He is currently preparing towards development of a training manual as a step towards a larger goal of working towards efficacy trails. Peter’s interest in how families are organised by dementia has been influenced by the late Lester Wright, with his picture currently being used to represent the group. Lester was Peter’s father-in-law, with his journey with Parkinson’s dementia significantly impacting the wider family. A large part of Peter’s motivation for supporting the development of this community of practice was a desire for greater collaboration with others who have an interest in this field.
